A Study On Neo-Confucianism Educationalists' Morality And Value In Song Dynasty

Chinese people always think much of morality. As early as the Zhou period, the Duke of Zhou already proposed "respect the God and protect people". Confucius take "benevolence" as the highest moral standard. He thought"the benevolence is love",Mencius advocated that the real man who can not be changed by poverty,can not be bend by power, can not be corrupted by wealth. "University" opened the topic by"Road of the Universityis is brighting morality,cherishing people,reaching the highest excellence".Doctrine of the mean proposed"respect Virtue".These moral thinkings have produced extremely profound influence to the later generations especially Song Dynasty.The Song Dynasty is the time which Confucianism philosophy as well as the moral study got stronger and stronger. Zhou Dunyi and zhang zai are well-deserved considered as Neo-confucianism physaicl founders.Zhou Dunyi first proposed"everybody love rich, Yanzi do not love nor pursuce, but love poor,why?"he thought that is because Yazi's happy is a high degree happy which beyond the interest and wealth.Zhou Duiyi repeatly commended to Yan Hui which had indicated he did not admire the nabobism, fame and fortune, but content to live a humble and virtuous life.Zhang Zai's social responsibility nurtured the after generation of Chinese intellectuals,encouraged them to become the progressive back of Chinese nation.Zhou Dunyi and Zhang zai's moral thinking in this paper is: Study for saints, achieve the realm of "Honesty" and no-desire;Did not admire the riches and honor, find the happiness of Confucius and Yanzi;A open-minded attitude toward life;Free and easy character,restrain one's anger and control one's passion;Love their students.They were together revered as Neo-Confucianism founders,because they determined the the orientation of Neo-Confucianism and the research themes. In this paper compound two people for study, Because Zhou Duiyi and Zhang Zai are the Neo-Confucianism founders and representatives.They have produced significant influence to the later Confucianism generation, as well as the entire Chinese nation's ethical spirit. Analysis their moral ideology, ideal personality, value concern to explore the Chinese nation's ethos should have important theoretical research value.
