Children's song is a Cross-discipline of folk literature and children's literature. Its content and form are relatively simple from the perspective of ordinary people,however, the phasic characteristics appeared during its documenting and disseminating process need to be given deep thought.The first stage lasts from the time when children's song are produced to the Ming Dynasty. During this stage almost all children's song which have been documented are closely related to the Rhyme and current affairs, with strong political and prophetic characteristics; The second stage lasts from the Ming dynasty to the contemporary era. During this stage, a large number of folk children's song are collected. Most of these song give true expression to the thoughts and feelings about children's life and are full of vitality. The third stage refers to the contemporary era. Song transmitted during this period have the characteristics of diversity.There are two main reasons for the emergence of such phenomenon: First, people's recognition on the functiona of children's song has changed; second, people's concept of children's has developed and changed.In fact, the changes of characteristics at different stages just happen on the surface. They reflect changes of discourse manipulation, especially from a theological discourse to rational discourse, as well as that from men to women, and then back to children. However, no matter what happens, from the horizontal perspective, children's song always maintain two aspects, namely, the features of games and tools. Both of the two feature accompany with the development children's song from the very beginning to the very end, and can be reflected through the works. In conclusion, the documenting and disseminating of children's song reflect the process of changes in discourse and values which lies behind the aesthetic creativity of the whole Chinese nation. They are not only children's games, but also cultural connections that dwells under the narrative form of children's song.
