In the period of the Anti-Japanese War; The Kuomintang carries on experimengs on "Fostering Land-holding Peasant" in the big rear, this attemptat land reform has attracted attention from scholars abroad in the field of the economic history of the Republic China in recent years.this fulfillment was carried out in Country Districtin order to help recover the declining rural economy and reconstruct the naval society. The rear areas took the responsibility of civil use and military supplies tostruggle agaiast the Japanese invaders.The thesis attempts toillustrates the intense land problems in Kuoming dang -governed areas and the ebolution of land policy of the Kuomingtang, At the same time, by discussing we can get better understanding of its contributions and defects in the special period ofthe Anti-Japanese War.It shows the reason why the Kuomingtang would not and could not solve the land problems of old ChinaThe thesis is mainly made up of four parts. The fist part tells us the theoriessource of Land-holding Peasant policy--"Land to the tiller".How is the thinkingput forward and experimeng before the Anti-Japanese War.The other three parts mainly discuss the deep background and its result of "Land-holding Peasant"; the present condition of the agricultur, village, fanner behind"Land-holding Peasant", the reason for Citizen's government policy to fail.Finally, the author draws a conclusion that not only did "Land-holding Peasant"cooperation movement have some positive effects on developing its rural economy and stabilizing the rural society, but also it made some victory against invaders. Especially in the period of the Anti-Japanese War; However, It also had its limitations and inevitably demised. So it could not thoroughly solve the serious problems, especially the land problem in the rural areas.
