| It is difficult to do translation, and it is more difficult to translate poems. The translation of poems has long been the focus of translators, but most of researchers argue about whose version is better or best from the angle of culture and traditional literature. The thesis mainly does the comparative research on different translators' versions of classical Chinese poems (CCP) from a new perspective of the cognitive linguistics, based on the theoretical cornerstone—categorization theory, which differs from the existing works, which mainly criticize forms, expressions of the meaning and other linguistic phenomena in versions. The thesis analyzes understanding process and representation process of the CCP by virtue of four cognitive models: propositional model, image-schematic model, metaphoric model and metonymic model. The purpose of the thesis is to enlighten researchers of CCP to rethink classical Chinese poems translation (CCPT) process. At last the author puts forward translating strategies from the cognitive perspective. |
