A Tentative Study On The Traditional Culture Resources Of A Harmonious Society

Fourth Plenary Session of the Sixteenth Central Committee has put forward the objective building a socialist harmonious society, which makes "a socialist harmonious society" the current academic research a hot issue. Building a socialist harmonious society is not accidental, and it is a profound historical background and rich cultural connotation. A harmonious society is the social ideals pursued by the people. Building a socialist harmonious society is the heritage and development of traditional Chinese culture.At present, the building of a harmonious socialist society in China mainly concentrated on the three major issues of contradictions: the contradiction between human and nature; the contradiction between human themselves (including the contradiction between human and society); the contradiction between our physical and mental. How can we solve the three problems? I believe that Chinese traditional culture can be used as reference significance and I also think the topic of the unity of heaven and human, attention to interpersonal harmony, physical and mental harmony in Chinese traditional culture provide us some ideas to solve these three major contradictions and the ideological and cultural resources.The article introduced the harmoniousness by elucidating the topic of the unity of heaven and human. Thinking of the unity of heaven and human in China's traditional culture has a dominant position and it is our solution to the current social environment encountered by people with the contradictions in order to achieve harmony between man and nature with a good idea. Attention to interpersonal harmony and the pursuit of harmony among the people are not only the Confucian spirit, but also the entire Chinese nation's fine traditions. Confucianism and Taoism have a wealth of interpersonal harmony thinking. Confucian wanted all the individuals make up of a society full of love spreading "benevolence"among them while Taoism think that people are part of nature and people should return to nature as interpersonal harmony of the natural will achieve. Confucian advocated harmoniousness as to the relationship between physical and mental. In their opinion, we should deal with the relation between morality and desire correctly, spiritual life. Taoism also attach great importance to harmony between physical and mental. The three main aspects of the harmonious society's traditional culture resources has given us many important enlightenment, we should embark from the harmonious society's construction, integrate the traditional"the unity of heaven and human"thinking, set up the new ecology view, make the human even the nature live together harmoniously . We should carry forward traditional thought of"harmonious person", promote society interpersonal harmonious, realize national and even the world harmony together. And we should advocate the idea of mental and physical harmony, cultivate personal ideals, strengthen the moral training to make the spirit world more harmonious.But at the same time we should see that in the era of traditional culture, class differences notably exist and it is impossible to achieve genuine social harmony. Therefore, times limitations inevitably exist in Chinese traditional culture for the harmony theoretical exploration.
