Thoughts Of Harmony In The Pre-Qin Confucianism And Construction Of Harmonious Socialist Society

As a wonderful part of traditional Chinese culture, thoughts of harmony in the Pre-Qin Confucianism contain rich and profound theories of harmony such as benevolence, harmony between man and nature, peace, and middlebrow, etc, which provide valuable spiritual resources for the construction of harmonious socialist society and are of practical and inspiring significance.This dissertation consists of four parts:In the first part, the background, significance, present situation of researches in this field at home and abroad and the author's evaluation towards them, the ways of research and the innovation points of this dissertation are introduced briefly.In the second part, the background where thoughts of harmony in the Pre-Qin Confucianism formed and the basic contents are studied in detail. The thoughts of harmony in the Pre-Qin Confucianism contain benevolence, harmony between man and nature, peace and middlebrow. Benevolence tells that"People with perfect virtue have universal love"; the profound content of harmony between man and nature is explained as well as its evolution in history; middlebrow mainly introduces honesty and how to obtain balance between extremes of matters.The third part talks about the scientific contents and basic features of harmonious socialist society comprehensively. In a harmonious socialist society, democracy and rule of law are fully carried forward; social fairness and justice are effectively maintained and achieved; the whole of society help each other; man and nature coexist harmoniously; all efforts conducive to social progress are respected and creative activities are supported to be played; and social stability and unity are maintained.In the fourth part, the inspirations derived from thoughts of harmony in the Pre-Qin Confucianism to the construction of harmonious society are analysed deeply.In the last part, a conclusion is drawn: in the construction of harmonious socialist society, thoughts of harmony in the Pre-Qin Confucianism can be referred to and can provide inspiration. The thought of benevolence can promote the harmony among members of a society; the thought of harmony between man and nature will help matain ecological balance and accelerate sustainable development; the thought of peace can lay important basis for interpersonal relationships and for handle of affairs at home and abroad; and the thought of middlebrow provide ways for the building of a harmonious socialist society.
