The Influence Of Music Education On Children's Intelligence

Researches and experiments in China and some other countries imply that music could improve human intelligence, and music education can help to improve Children'growing up. Children who have been educated by music are better in creation and attention. And their study is better than who have not. Dr. Hans·Kunt·Bastian had pointed that music could make people clever. Studying music helps to improve children in their culture quality and taste ability. Accepting music education could help children growing up healthily. Music is the most one which could express people's nature, and make some active effect on their character. For the above reasons, this paper will give some music educational methods as following.The 21th century is a period of a global competition and reform. The rapid economic development and booming knowledge ask for people in good quality. Knowledge plays a very important role. It not only changes people's living style but affects people's way of thinking and studying. Educational reform has also begun. People are facing some continuous challenges that come with the society developing, knowledge attaining, population increasing and people's enormous desire. This tells us that we should pay more attention on nursling education and dig out children's potential.There are more research and practice in foreign countries than in China about the influence of music education to students and the relationship between music teaching and the progress made by the students. Dr. Hans·Kunt·Bastian is famous in his Music and Its Effect, which tells us that music could make people clever, could improve people's social ability, could make people creative and self believing. Japanese Dr. Lingmu also drew his conclusion that talent children could be discovered before seven year old. In China, Professor Li Jinyuan has researched from 50th 20 century in music teaching theory. He has found the order and nature by contacting children in kindergartens. His research has proved that childhood is the best period to improve people's music quality, and the best period of music education. The ability formed in childhood will benefit people for life, no matter in techniques or in art quality. The famous music educationalist, professor Caoli has drew the conclusion by questionnaire and testing that music is an art to one's character. Children will be helped in creation, thought, and imagination by studying music, including music techniques, music justice, and music creation. Our famous pianist Dan Zhaoyi insisted that Music is a door leading to creative thought and imaginative thought. To study music could help children to find the key to open this door. Many researches have proved that finger's exercise is the basement of children's intelligence.Although the Inner Mongolia is a remote provincial in China with undeveloped economy, many parents have thought much of children's early education. They let their children to study music and cultivate their potential. I believe that music is with many benefits but no harm to children. Every child is with potential ability, and will be excellent by continuous training.The research adopted quantitative method, as well as with the literature review and intervention method. The measure for IQ was RuiWen Intelligence test. The 84 subjects were from two elementary schools at Huhehot.Ruiwen method could apply in both group and individual. The test is easy. A copy of questions and a paper of answers is enough. Testing result will be used to confirm the intelligence of quizzes in a model of percent.The finding of the research is that music educated children whose IQ levels are significantly higher than those who have not music education. The conclusion is that music education significantly improved children's IQ.
