Studies On Wen Zisheng's Poems And Articles

The thesis is mainly divided into three parts.The first chapter explores Wen Zisheng himself,including his biography and several questions in biography of Wen Zisheng.Furthermore, the thesis make a preliminary analysis on Wen Zisheng's thought. The biography of Wen Zisheng is summarized from the Chronicle of Wen Zisheng, the appendix 1. Two sides are elaborated in the part of Wen's literature status. Firstly, What are the reasons that Chang Jing have given Wen Zisheng highly praises .Secondly, why is that Wen Xing can be called togother and the origins of the title- north three Bel-esprits comes..The character of Outside Confucianism--inside Buddhism exists the thought of Wen Zisheng. His Confucian thoughts mainly embodies his recognition and the loyalty to the imperial power that he experienced in different periods. On the other hand, Wen Zisheng makes a good meditation to the the Buddhism. His articles tell us that he is more like a devout Buddhist.The second chapter is the analysis of Wen Zisheng's poems. We can categories Wen's only eleven existing poems into two parts:the reflection of the reality and the description of the scenery. In terms of the reality reflection, Wen Zisheng writes more about aristocratic lifestyles, long journey and resentful women.As for the styles of Wen Zisheng's poems,the thesis studies from two aspects,that are so called delicate and indirect,vigor and plain. The style of vigor and plain is mainly embodied the firm and plain temperaments. The plain style is related to the simple language,the accurate chosen verb and the skillful using of the short style.Refers to Delicate and fresh , mild and indirect , they are reflecting the delicate and indirect style of Wen Zisheng. Delicate and fresh style stems from that Wen Zisheng is good at creating scenery and using color and dual-syllable word. In order to show the mild and indirect features ,the author make analysis for the content which are expressed by using literary quotation ,electing the image, Bixing and reflecting grief through happiness and the form such as structure level and words form.The third chapter analyzes the existing articles written by Wen Zisheng. The chapter illustrates them from two aspects: the type and content of articles and the character of the style.Wen Zisheng's article can be divided two aspects:official papers and epitaphs. There are 17 epitaphs which are main body of Wen Zisheng's articles. Most of the epitaphs are memorial to the throne,biao, rescript with separate distinguished features. There are only eight epitaphs, few but excellent.The thesis summaries up the artistic style of Wen Zisheng as three parts,that are sharp,tight,elegant. The style of sharp reflects in the obvious emotional tendency and his deep and sharp political views. As for the style of tightness,the thesis analyzes it from the article structure(foreshadowing, progressive) and the rhetorical device (analogy, rhetorical question).The elegant style stems from the art of parallelism and the usage of literary quotation.The Chronicle of Wen Zisheng and the extract of literary quotation from Wen Zisheng's articles are two major tasks for my earlier period of thesis preparation .Now they are put in the end of the thesis's body as appendix 1 and 2.
