| Judou which was written by Wang Yun, one of the four famous specialists on Shuowen in Qing dynasty, is an important writing of studying Shuowen. In this book, Wang Yun conducted a comprehensive interpretation of Shuowen, and collated the font, pronunciation and meaning of Shuowen. When editing the font, he made full use of ancient characters, opening up a new way of studying Shuowen and greatly promoting the development of philology. However, because of the impact of Duan Zhu, the study of Judou was weak. Especially the research on correcting Xiaozhuan was little. Even if concerned, it wasn't in detail or stated arbitrarily, and nobody made a systematic analysis.Taking this into consideration, this article selects correcting Xiaozhuan in Judou as the subject. It summarizes the methods of the correction by Wang, and demonstrates the success and failure of the correction of Xiaozhuan systematically by using ancient characters information. This paper mainly divides into three chapters:The first chapter is introduction: first, it gives a general review of Wang Yun's life and works and introduces the contents and characteristics of Judou; second, it introduces the primary intention and contents of this topic and the situation of the research. The second chapter analyses and summarizes the methods of correcting Xiaozhuan in Judou which divides into four kinds: first, collating according to different editions; second, collating according to the writings about Shuowen, other books, characters and dialect; third, collating according to Shuowen itself; fourth, collating according to conjecture. The third chapter points out the gains and losses of correcting Xiaozhuan by comparing the corrected characters with unearthed ancient characters, including Oracle, Jinwen, and the Warring States text. |
