Although the article is named as Analysis of Theories of Liu Xizai's Prose , its intention aims not at systemic arrangement of theories of Liu Xiuzai's Prose, but at how to bring categories of china's ancient literature criticism into full development perfectly on the basis of precedencessors' achievements via theories of Liu Xiuzai's Prose. That is to say, I emphasize intrinsic connection as well as its development between theories of Liu Xiuzai's Prose and those of predecessors' literature criticism, from which I intend to analysize how Liu Xizai synthesized theories. Although he wrote The Summary of Arts so simply that we can not find any powerful evidence of their connection. I believe that the outline is still of importance because it makes us see how to Liu Xiuzai developed predecessors' theories of literature criticism in given history.This article regards theories of Liu Xizai's prose as point of contact and selects four more typical theories whose theoretical resources are arranged stimultaneously.Chapter One Theory of Scraping-and-rolling between Matter and I. I systemically arrange the connection between Theory of Scraping-and-rolling between Matter-feeling, Feeling-and-scene, writing for discontentment as well as Resource for imbalance with the incorporation of their reasonable theoretical nucleus. I further reveal writing evolution naturally. Meanwhile I spread its denotation from any form of writing way, plot, mood and so on, so that it develops a new level of evolution of China's criticism of ancient literature.Chapter Two Method-on-image-Followed-by-appearance Theory. In my opinion, it is historical conclusion about Article-meaning Discussion and Article-appearance Discussion on the basis of predecessors Taking-the-authors'-spirit-as-the-domain and Taking-the -authors '-experience-and-understanding-as-the-domain. He clearly pointed out Methed-on-image was followed by Appearance and threw his own light on their connotation and denotation.Chapter Three Expand-articles-into-thousands-of-words-while-Reduce-one-word Theory. It not only reflected structuralism that structure is above all in articles in MingQing Danasty, but also closely connected with Poem-eye Theory and One-word-frame Theory. It displayed traditional pursuit of aesthetic and implied some signal of transformation from traditional thought to modern one.Chapter Four Literature-myth-isn't-beyond-flying Theory. It is closely related to Jiaoran's Interest-describing-flying,Liu Xizai's "Mysterions Thought" as well as the styles of ancient articles. Flying was regarded as the highest standard of prose writing by Liu Xizai, which showed his profound understanding of intrinsic characteristic of prose random and advocate of subjects' spirit as well as demonstration of subject discussion that was explained as Literature-is-mind. I also involve in the issue of Liu Xizai's orientation in the history of literature criticism on the basis of above problems. A long time, Liu Xizai couldn't be placed into proper position resulting from The Summary of Arts simplicity, which put forward many ideas without clear definition and systemic illustration so that we ignore it theoretical value, and researchers who only focus on Liu Xizai's thought from The Summary of Arts with ignorance of its historical logic. Therefore, I think, it will depend on further study of The Summary of Arts if orientate scientifically in the history of literature criticism.
