Liu Yuxi was a famous and highly respected poet active during Tang dynasty. His works covered a wide rang of contents, and, showing a profound influence, were widely read by people from one generation to another. Liu Yuxi wrote numerous pieces of work and kept them closely, many of which were compiled into anthology on his own. Amongst his poems, Responsorial Poetry is a significant part, and the most well known collection for this poetic form is Collection of Responsorial Poetry between Liu and Bai. Liu Yuxi and Bai Juyi had been spiritually attracted to each other long before they met in Yangzhou. When serving as the secretary of the Emperor, Bai Juyi sent over hundred pieces of poems to Liu Yuxi who had been exiled to Langzhou, and Liu always responded very soon by poems as well. After the meeting in Yangzhou, whatever living in the same place or not, they kept writing poems to exchange emotions and thoughts until the end of life of Liu Yuxi. It would be quite significant to study the responsorial poetry between Liu and Bai. Regretfully, although there have been some academic achievements in this field, most of efforts were put into the comparison of the content of their own pieces or the textual research into the edition of the anthology. A few of essays really contribute to the study of the contents of the responsorial poetry composed by Liu and Bai. Another noticeable point is that, after Liu Yuxi passed away, Bai Juyi said: "Crying for my dear firend today and I will walk alone from now on." The reason is that Bai Juyi initiate the Movement of New Yue fu with Yuanzhen, and brought it to a new altitude by Zhu zhi poem, along with Liu Yuxi. In the heart of Bai Juyi, Liu Yuxi occupied the vacancy left by the death of Yuanzhen. When Liu Yuxi passed away, too, he felt the ultimate loneliness. We can see that, Bai Juyi not only treasured his friendship with Liu Yuxi, but also had his own particular perception of Zhu zhi Poem. Zhu zhi Poem have great impact on the poetic creation for later times. Studying the responsory between Liu and Bai, this essay attempts to combine contents of these two poets' responsorial poetries, their association, their mind's roads, their life experiences and characteristics to analyze the content of their responsorial poetries and the significance of Zhu zhi poem.
