This dissertation, as an Irish identity study of Joyce, explores Joyce's deft and tactful narrative of national issues through the describing of the daily lives in Dublin in his novels, and the using of the British language.And accordingly, this dissertation is divided into three chapters, dealing respectively with the nightmarish history and hybridization culture of Ireland, an attempt at self-definition by sending himself into exile and describing daily lives of civilian and British language rebuilding.
