John Wycliffe ( 1320-1384 ) was known as the"Morningstar of Religious Reformation".The religious reformation by Wycliffe had profound historical backgrounds. In the 14th century, the British nation-state had initially taken shape, which objectively called for the establishment of their national church and the strengthening of royal power. However, the Church of Christ had become the obstacle on the road of the British nation-state formation, and also the negative factor for the consolidation of the royal power. In the course of criticizing the pope authority and the Church decay, the medieval university campuses solemnly became the reformation bases, and the intellectuals in universities became the power of advocating reformation. Moreover, a good many of privileges owned by university became legal tools with which a religious reformer used to protect themselves. In addition, the serious secularization of the medieval british christian church, not only triggered numerous conflicts between the Christian authority and the monarchy authority, but also led Wycliffe to propose an idea about the establishment of a clean church.
