Revision Of The Chinese Version Of The Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory-20 And Its Application In Medical Members Of Military Basic Level

Objective:The study will revise the Chinese version of MFI-20 initially in Medical members of military basic level,on the one hand,provide a new tool for subjective evaluation of fatigue in domestic research.On the other hand,the fatigue conditions of military basic level medical members will scientific assess and the fatigue-related factors will be researched initially.Methods:The Chinese version of the MFI-20 was translated from the original one,after back-translated and culture adaptation,it was applied to 267 military basic level medical members to test the scale for evaluation.Survey was enforced and the questionnaires includes general information,the Chinese version MFI-20,Trait Coping Style Questionnaire(TCSQ),General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES),and Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90),the scores on the scales were correlate analyzed.Data were analyzed by SPSS11.5 program.Result:1.The Chinese version of the MFI-20 consists of 20 items,which can be divided into 4 subscale including Physical Fatigue(10 items),Mental Fatigue(4 itms),Reduced Motivation(3 items) and Reduced Activity(3 items).2.The fatigue degrees of military basic level medical members were good,but the conditions of reduced activity were higher. Fatigue and negative life events have significantly positive correlations.The scores of positive coping style were higher,the general self-efficacy and the conditions of Symptom Checklist-90 were good,but we still found that some subjects show a certain psychological problems,the maxim symptoms was obsession,interpersonal sensitivity,depression and paranoia in the crowd,and obsession was the most symptom in the crowd with psychological problems.3.Service,job title,marital status,economic status are significant correlated with fatigue in different levels.Navy,junior titles,unmarried and poor economic conditions had significantly higher degree of fatigue.4.Coping styles, self-efficacy,health and fatigue were significantly related.Negative coping style and fatigue were positively correlated,positive coping styles were correlated with fatigue negatively,self-efficacy and fatigue was negatively correlated,health status was positively correlated with fatigue.5.The results of multiple linear regression declared that obsession, somatization of SCL-90,positive coping style,self-efficacy and negative coping style can pretest the scales of MFI-20.Conclusions:1.Although further validation is recommended,the results for the initial Chinese version of the MFI-20 in military medical members showed good reliability, validity as well as item discrimination.2.The fatigue degrees of military basic level medical members were good,but those who were Navy,junior titles,unmarried and in poor economic conditions should be highly emphasized.Coping fatigue measures should be focus on the Navy,as well as unmarried,junior titles at the grassroots level medical personnel,because this crowd was more obvious fatigue,and prone to show all kinds of psychological and behavioral problems.3.The results of multiple linear regression declared that obsession,somatization of SCL-90,positive coping style,self-efficacy and negative coping style can pretest the scales of MFI-20.
