Inquiring The Deep Puzzlement Of The Living

Dongxi and Guizi are two "Cenozoic" novelists There exist some natural elements of postmodernism in their novel texts. How to study these texts from the point of view of post-modernistic culture has been a feasible and necessary proposition. Focusing on the theme------inquiring the puzzlement of the living------in the preface, conclusion and three chapters in the body, the author respectively carries out the post-modernistic cultural study from three aspects.The preface is divided into three aspects: feasibility study, necessity study and methodology study. The first aspect makes a deep discussion on the relationship between the novel and culture, and deals with the relevancy and feasibility between two novelists' novels and the post-modernistic cultural study from the angle of the post-modernistic culture. The second aspect moves into the commentary on the present research of two novelists' important works and novel theories, through which the author makes a deep understanding on the research skeleton and gap of both novelists' novels and puts forward, from the angle of the point and plane, the necessity of research on the post-modernistic culture of both novelists' texts. The third aspect presents a description on the post-modernistic cultural situation, establishing the research domain from the aspects of post-modernistic cultural form and the post-modernity in the daily life, and discussing the value and structure of the thesis from the angle of the literary history and modernity.The text includes three sections as follows:The first chapter makes a point from the identity representative symbol of the postmodern life, analyzing the social identity and self-identity included in the individual identity, and the influence on the individual. Then from the superficial analysis of three texts, the author makes a research on the individual identity existed in the family, society and individual, consequently showing the different life experience of individual.The second chapter deals with the analysis of the irrational situation confronted by the human and the establishment of the irrational position. There are two parts in this chapter. In the first part, the author describes the situations in which the ideal construction encounters the deconstruction of the reality, and the difference and opposite between the individual and the other. The author also analyses the absurd life experience showed in the texts of both novelists. In the second part, the author discusses the life experience showed in the texts from the angle of chance.The third chapter discusses the contents of the desire and the subjectivity, analyses the fluidity and expandability of the desire and describes the ultimate disharmony situation of the human being's existence. Firstly, from the angle of life, reality and desire, the author discusses that the authentic desire expressed in Guizi's novels brings about influence on the individual existence and life condition. Secondly, from the angle of suppress and anti-suppress, the author analyses various desires in the post-modern life and different fortunes of the individual in the struggle of desire carnival.The conclusion, from the angle of modernity and contemporary literature, analyses the course of modern reformation and evolution, and the continual change of the individual narration in the different period of contemporary literature. The significance of the theme of the thesis is deeply expressed from the angle of the private narration of the individual.
