From the learners' perspective, the present thesis, based on personal implicit theory and attribution theory about listening comprehension, conducts an empirical research into learning strategies of English listening adopted by non-English majors in China, trying to explore the relationship between second language listening achievement and learning strategies from a brand -new perspective, which could provide some fresh hints to English listening teaching in China. Adopting an open questionnaire, the present study investigated learning strategies of English listening from students' perspective. Factor analysis was adopted as the major technique in processing all the collected data. The primary findings were as follows: 7 kinds of learning strategies had positive effects on the English listening comprehension achievement of Chinese English learners (EFL-English as a foreign language); attributions of successes and failures in English listening learning varied from efficient listeners to inefficient listeners. Efficient learners tended to attribute success to internal factors such as effort and affect. These findings will contribute to the improvement of the teaching method of English listening according to students' perceptions.
