| Mr. Feng Youlan has devoted his life to the rebound of traditional Chinese culture and the propaganda of the Confucianism. In his early study, he worked on the traditional Chinese philosophy. Later, he elucidated the Confucianism based on the western Realism so as to establish the theoretical basis of philosophy in China. He published 6 works, namely "Zhenyuan Six Books", to complete the new system of the Confucianism. Thus, Mr. Feng is a representative of the famous modern Chinese philosophers.Mr. Mu Zongsan has made great efforts to reconstruct the philosophy in China. He regards the Confucianism as his life. He received very strict education in western philosophy, logic and mathematics when he was young. Finally, he built his philosophic system based on his interpretations of Kant and the methods from Buddhism. His contribution to philosophy has made him a well-known Chinese philosopher throughout the world in the twentieth Century.This thesis concerns with the inheritance of the traditional Chinese philosophy in what kind of way and how the western philosophy can be used in explaining the traditional Chinese philosophy. At present, the emphasis of the Chinese philosophy dose not remain the same between the philosophers' view and the opinion of the people in the public. In order to weaken the different understandings of the traditional Chinese philosophy, besides social practice, the theories of Mr. Feng Youlan and Mr. Mu Zongsan really play a very important role in explaining the traditional Chinese philosophy.In recent years, the main groups of people in China face the new evaluation and classification of the traditional Chinese culture due to the fast development of the society which is affected by the globalization. In the culture, philosophy stands an important part. Nowadays, there are not only the similarities but the differences between the Chinese philosophy system and the western one. How to establish the modernism of the traditional Chinese philosophy, keep the right standpoint, reconstruct the scientific Chinese philosophy, solve the heated philosophic problems and make more academic achievements are the subjects that are waiting to be studied by the researchers. This paper will discuss Feng Youlan's philosophic point of views and Mu Zongsan's. From the discussion and the analysis, the characters of their views on traditional Chinese philosophy will be clearly shown. By analyzing the differences among the two experts, the efforts that they have made to elucidate the traditional Chinese philosophy with the help of the western classic philosophic theories will display that the essence of the traditional Chinese philosophy can be the guide of almost all the things on the earth. The thesis will make some progress through using Marxism to analyze the studies that have already been made. |
