The Cultural Pursuit In Migration, The Loyalty To The Faith Overseas

Always in the past,mainland of China is short of introduction and research about Lu Qiao.However,in modern Chinese history ,he is a writer that can not be neglected,especially when the cultural philosophy in his works is mentioned.Many kinds of Lu Qiao's works have been published outside mainland of China.But we can only read his river novel "Wei Yang Ge"in mainland of China.With a combined method of cultural criticism and aesthetic criticism ,this thesis attempts to define the cultural proposition and artistic features in Lu Qiao'works.Through writing this thesis,we want to appeal more and more scholars to pay attention to this writer and his unique artistic style.The main part of this thesis is divided into three chapters in addition to the preface and the conclusion.Chapter I inspect Lu Qiao's river novel "Wei Yang Ge"which was written in 1940's.We concern on the cultural proposition and romantic style in this novel.Through analysing the growth trajectory of characters in this novel,we try to reveal the culture resource they represented.Then we analyse narrative characteristics and the method of character-setting in "Wei Yang Ge".With this analysis,we want to grasp the author's ideal about Chinese cultural construction.This chapter also take pains to explore the impact which came from unique geographical and cultural space of Kunming on the formation of cultural proposition in "Wei Yang Ge".This novel narrated stories in campus during war times.But it had not been branded mark of war. Why could Lu Qiao open a new path to creat a peaceful and romantic atomosphere in his novel during war times?This issue is discussed in the third quarter of chapter I .In chapter II,we discussed the proposition of cultural dissemination in the short-story-set "Ren Zi" and the collection of eassays "Shi Chan Ju ".In the first section,we analyse the structure and the cultural implication of "Ren Zi",in order to reveal the cultural thought author wanted to express.In this section,we try to grasp the core-image of these stories and analyse the cultural philosophy from Confucianism,Buddihism and Taoism perspective. In the second section,we discuss the collection of eassays "Shi Chan Ju"which was written by Lu Qiao as a cultural wanderer in the United States. At the same time,following issues are discussed:the value of oriental culture in modern society,the reflection on oriental culture and western culture,the expectation for communication and interaction between two kinds of culture.In chapter III,we begin to analyse the artistic features of Lu Qiao'works.We focus mainly on artistic skills in this chapter.The artistic skills in "Wei Yang Ge" is rooted in Chinese traditional art treasures and also include new factor.We can also find new forms and significance of traditional literary skills here.Finally,we analyze the unique style in Lu Qiao'works and try to reveal the causes of it.
