| There are quiet a few views on the trends of thought attributes of Shen Congwen's novels, such as realism,romanticism and so on. Because of these different attributes to his novels, leads to the different thinking on Shen Congwen's evaluation. Some believe that Shen Congwen's ideological nature is of the modern, and some believe that is anti-modern, but also believe that it is the pre-modern nature. In this paper, Author insists on that Shen Congwen's novels are romantic literary ideas, their thoughts are of the modern aesthetic ideology. The article in three parts of this view are discussed.Chapter 1, the author from the Legendary novel, Dream Narrative, Pastoral exotic to discuss Shen Congwen's Romantic art features.The second chapter, the author discusses the Romantic ethos of modern novel critical of Shen Congwen's novels. The article maintains that, Shen Congwen had Criticized the modem urban civilization,modernity values and the Modernity utterance system in his novel and revealed the true picture of modernity.Chapter III discusses Shen Congwen another romantic novels ethos: Modern Aesthetic salvation. Modern society is a total loss of the aesthetic spirit of utilitarian society. To create a rich aesthetic sense of salvation "Xiangxi World" to the poetry of life, Shen Congwen sought aesthetic, artistic to repair and remedy the modern. In the "Xiangxi World" he opposed real material gain-rization, reason-rization by life's poetry-rization, people's originally true the emotion purification and the human being and the nature assimilation to confront the reality of the utilitarian, and rational re - an aesthetic to the survival of the state. Romanticism and the modern aesthetic reflection and aesthetic sense of salvation, constituted a modern aesthetic spirit of the initial resources.Shen Congwen has also made the same romantic aesthetic response as the Western on China's beginning modern, his thought belongs to appreciation of the beauty modernity ideological system.
