Discuss The Methodology Of Divergent Thinking

Divergent thinking, is a way of thinking searching for optimal solutions of different problems through various directions or viewpoints, which could not be inhibited by the information or the methods known before, when one research problem/subject needed to be dissolved. It is also the important way of thinking for solving the problem with the following two main characteristics, flexibility and pluralism, which behaves including free reconstruction-thinking, omitting the middle-step of thinking and increasing speed of its processing, and instantly inducing the spark of innovation. This paper presented here discussed the seeking-differences thinking with the following four parts:Firstly, divergent thinking was introduced. Its theoretical connotation was explained, subsequently the basic characteristics were revealed considerably, such as flexibility, enthusiasm, pluralism and re-thinking of trial and error, etc. Owing to the these features, the seeking-differences thinking can produce the effects in the process of scientific development and human social practice, contributing to excite the thinking wisdom and also to scientific innovation, scientific test or scientific development;Secondly, the types and its applications of the ways with regard to divergent thinking were analyzed. Concerning solving the problem, the ways of its process can be divided into divergence, transformation, and 'double-faced God' types. Furthermore, the meanings and applications of the different types were made by the detailed analysis in the current study of this paper;Thirdly, the mechanism and regulation underling the divergent thinking were described. By analyzing the developing mechanism of the seeking-differences thinking, it can be found that, the human brain was the physiological basis of the processing in the development, and the non-linear thinking of human was the sprite of developing the divergent thinking. And it can also be indicated that the inherent regulation may be involved in the development of divergent thinking, which may include the regulations of information selection, similar induction, cooperation and reconstruction;Finally, the rational suggestions corresponding to the applications of the seeking-different thinking were provided. The divergent thinking has a relative practical significance and can be applied extensively. However, it could not be implemented optionally, certain principles and/or requirements should be contained, such as divergent differences-seeking complementing with convergence analysis, seeking differences with the existence of seeking common ground, and flexible conversion unifying with scientific demonstration.
