As a musician engaged in the study of folk song in Hebei Province, at the same time ,it is obligated to make contributions to inheritance and development of the folk song of our province even more. So, this thesis proceeds from studying history, geography, humanity and custom as well as classification of Tangshan area folk songs, carrying on careful research on the artistic characteristic of the folk songs in this area. According to previous valuable information collected by past generation, the recordings of the old folk artists and present interpretation of Tangshan by the folk singers and some professional folk singers,the author endeavors to make further summary and sum up the artistic traditional singing method and characteristic skills in order to excavate the characteristic and essence of this area, which abundant various singing skills of Chinese folk songs. Meanwhile the author endeavors to make some contribution to the protection and development of Tangshan area folk songs, so that the art of Tangshan folk can be carried forward and become more and more known and popular.
