| The folk songs, as the root of a state's national music and a typical symbol of the national culture, have important value of research. Narrative folk songs are just a small part of folk songs, but with large value to study. Rooted in the loess on Northern Shaanxi Folk Song, every story gave a person with heart of inexplicably collision; the unique culture of immigrants added a bitterness color to her; and the mysterious religions increased strange religious condiment for her; and the variety of folk culture enriched a strong regional characteristics for her; besides, the rustic dialect gave her a strong flavor of rural life; what's more, the immortal red culture added a classic scenery to her. That the rich culture accumulation, matched on the dramatic melody, showing a profound connotation and unique aggregates flavour, makes her became a gorgeous spectacle on the "dragon ridge".The thesis has 3 chapters, in chapter 1, the writer sketched out the conception of narrative folk songs; and the writer analyzed the rich connotations of culture in northern Shaanxi narrative folk songs in chapter 2 from the the cultures of loess, immigration, religion, folk culture, dialect and red culture; however, taking Northern Shaanxi Folk Songs for example, from the perspectives of lyrics and music, the writer mainly deconstructed lyrics and music of typical works and summarize artistic beauty of Northern Shaanxi Folk Song in chapter 3, including the art of lyrics characteristics---narration, lyricism, conciseness, figurativeness and uniqueness; and the art of music characteristics ---aking the best of strophic, pentatonic mode, line cavity, disjunction, improvisation and so on; perfect combination of lyrics and music--- the unity of themes, emotion, structures and tone, from the narrative folk base on working and living, love and marriage, social struggles, social customs. At last, the writer conclude the Northern Shaanxi Folk Song to the narrative on the inspiration lyrics.
