The Narrative Art Of LingShuhua's Novels

Ling Shuhua was famous for her particular style and skills on writing. She adhered consistently to the exploration of narrative art in novels, which makes her a women writer who is of strong savvy on narrating. Her works provided modern short stories relatively abundant resources to promote the development and mature of its form. Therefore, in the initial starting of new literature when the art was raletively crude, her practice on narrative art of novel deserves our close attention. The starting point of this paper is the regress to the writer and her works themselves. In this paper, I will cut-in from the angle of narrating. But rather than being limited in the theoretical frame of western narrative theories completely, I will cleave to my own feeling of reading, start out from her works completely, grab several respects that can fully display her artistic style and research them as a whole, and try to search the reasons why she adopted these narrative skills. By doing these, a comprehensive and deep revelation about the particular narrative charm of her novels is expected. So narrative structure,narratiing of imago and narrating of psychology will be the main content of this paper.The content of each chapter are as follows:In Chapter One, I will systematically discourse the delicacy and unique of the structure in her novels, analyze four kinds of structure which can represent the features of her novels`structure , also I will point out the reasons why she adapted these structures and how these structures convey the writer`s intentions wonderfully well.In Chapter Two, a relatively comprehensive analysis about the typical description of imago will be given,which includes imago of space,imago of objects and imago of music. Narratiing of imagos is one of the important manifestation of her consummate skills. I will mark out how these imagos construct the exquisite and implicit artistic world in LingShuhua`s novels and analyze how these imagos become one of the important means to express the writer`s ideas,creat artistic images and reflect dramatis personaes` fate.In Chapter Three, the analysis about her unique narrating of psychology will be conducted. In this part I will discourse the two types of her narrating of psychology and the expressional forms of each type. I will also point out that the narrating of psychology in her novels absorbed both the means of artistic expression of traditional novels and the skills of writing and expressing of western novels, which made the narrating of psychology in her novels shows bright modern character.
