LiuXiang, one of the most renowned scholars in Han Dynasty, was well-knowledged and gifted. After his death, Liuxiang left a large quantity of works, especially XinXu and ShuoYuan. Both books are a compilation of pre-Qin classics and Han historical material, in which there were so many stories about the noble characters. This article aims at sorting scientifically and systematically based on the different characters involving the two books. Afterwards through the analysis of these characters and the research of culture surrounding LiuXiang, this article analyses the author's value of courageous noble and finally this article makes an exploration about the molding techniques of the noble characters in an artistic term.This thesis is composed of three parts——a classification of noble characters in Xinxu and Shuoyuan, LiuXiang's value of courageous noble, the molding techniques of these characters in an aritical form. The introduction is an introduction to the researched object, involving the basic contents of noble characters and the present situation and the researched key-point. The first chapter focuses on the summary and analysis of the these persons, in which the thesis divides into loyal characters, the trusted and honest ones. The second part examines carefully the origination of the noble character and that era's fashion prevailing in Han Dynasty so that studies LiuXiang's value depending on the dividision. The last part summarizes artistic techniques of LiuXiang's portrait of the noble characters, focusing on three directions including the tailor of material, the utilization of contradictory conflict and the description of the details.
