The Passive Sentence takes very important position in both Chinese and English.And it is a popular phenomenon that the foreign students often make mistakes in learning and using the Chinese Passive Sentence due to the influence of their mother tongue.Thus the Chinese Passive Sentence,as a special sentence pattem,always draws more attention in the field of teaching Chinese as a second language.The comparative studies between the Chinese Passive Sentence and the English Passive Sentence will help the foreign students to master the character of the Chinese Passive Sentence,and this kind of research under the background of literature works would be helpful for the learners to using the Chinese Passive Sentence properly.Therefore,the author launch comparative studies between the Chinese Passive Sentence and the English Passive Sentence on the basis of the corpus from the Chinese literature work《骆驼祥子》and its English edition《CAMEL XIANGZI》.This article is divided into seven parts.The first one is the introduction that explains the research object,significance and methods as well as the corpus.The second one analyses the types and components of the Chinese Passive Sentences in《骆驼祥子》.The third one classifies the translations of the Chinese Passive Sentences in《骆驼祥子》.The forth one discusses the forms of the active translations and the reasons why the active sentences are chosen to translate the passive sentences. The fifth one focuses on the forms of the passive translations.The sixth one manages to present the differences between the Chinese and English passive sentences.The last one is conclusion.Through the former study,this paper gives us the conclusions all follows:Firstly,the Chinese passive sentence has two types of main pattern—"NP1+M+NP2+VP"and "M+NP2+VP".Secondly,the English translation of the Chinese passive sentence always is sentence with the verb as the predicate.Thirdly,the active translation falls into two parts depending on the meaning of the verbs.Fourthly,the English passive sentence has two types of main pattern—"NP1+be+V-en+by+NP2" and "NP1+be+V-en".Fifthly,the Chinese passive sentence possesses a lot of differences from the English passive sentence,which is the most important contribution of the article.
