After the long history of human development the character is no longer isolated lines, but becomes to be a media used extensively by human. The character has been used to record events by human, now it has gradually evoluted to a tool of human to percept the world and convey emotion. Mankind can not only understand paterns through the visual language, but also use characters to express abstract logic. What is more important is that human now has a direct way to share more complex information such as the sentiment of things and ideas. The main purpose of the study is to explore how character could convey the auther's feelings and intentions to the audience in the graphic design First the author study the origin of character, and then focus on the different and its effect in various stage of human development and geographic area. The author also expound the complementrary relationship of the text and the graphics as the abstract symbols in human isual communication applications. Thus the author further demonstrated through examples of how characters could not only achieve its most basic function as to express meaning, but also writing to graphic, image, using more creative forms and aesthetic effect of the expression of the author accurately the design of deepthinking, feelings and intentions. combined with graphics in graphic size, color, shape or other characteristics.
