With advances in technology and the improvement of the social division of labor, different groups and different types of technologies division are more detailed and the social requirements of the individual are increasingly high. In order to meet the requirements of the development, most vocational schools have been upgraded vocational technical colleges by authority, which aims to train practical senior skilled technicians. But, as a new mode of education, there is a long way to go to improve the problems on the process of it, especially in oral English teaching.These problems include: firstly, the design of English curriculums are not scientific; Secondly, the teaching evaluation systems are not matching teaching objectives as well; Thirdly, the effect of oral English teaching are very low; Fourthly; the oral English teaching methods are also out of date. These problems are may caused by all kinds of factors. The writer holds opinions as follows: the supervisors are not completely clear about the objectives of English teaching in vocational colleges; the special characteristics of the students in vocational colleges; backward teaching ideas ,the lack of professional oral English teachers and default of practical oral textbooks and so on.How to solve the above problems is a very complex project. From the point of my view, we must correct the misunderstanding of oral English teaching characteristics and re-adjusting the curriculums and assessment system. If possible, increase the oral English part into CET-four or six examinations. To adjusted teaching strategies according to the special characteristics of Vocational students, improve teaching methods, and focus on Oral English's vocational characteristics. The language environment and cultural backgrounds can be the beginning of Oral class introduction; Vocational skills-training English teachers, improve teachers' oral English ability; prepared or perfect English Pragmatic practical teaching.This paper takes the ways of reading related articles and investigation. In the previous study and based on Vocational oral English teaching experience, I have done some research on the situations of the teachers and students in light of the current Oral English Teaching ,and conducted a deep analysis, summarized and made some tentative responses. On this view, wish to contribute something to the current Oral English teaching in vocational colleges.
