My dissertation is focusing on the famous Russian-Chinese Translator Cao Ting's translation practice and his life story. Looking back into Mr. Cao Ying's over-sixty year's experience of being a translator under the circumstances of the certain social history and the corresponding literary history in both Russia and China, this paper concretely analyzes the translator's standard of selecting source texts , the relationship between his work and the time, and the influences made by his work of Therefore, it tends to portray a translator's development process of his subjectivity and reveal his inner characters as an intellectual . In the end , it summaries the translator's conscientious subjectivity as a whole.
