The Study Of Chinese Cultural Debate In The 1930s And Compare With Another Cultural Debate In The 1980s

In January 10,1935,ten professors including wangxinming(?)hebingsong(?) Taoshengxi and so on issue(?)The declaration of China-centered culture(?)The declarations arouse a hot debate which lasted more than one year on the construction of culture in China.The debate was a reflection for the academic environment at that time,and also involved in a complicated political backgrounds.First,the debate is a prolongation about the discussion of Chinese and western culture.The criticism about traditional culture and the growing spread about western culture led to a confusion in the Chinese ideological field.The national crisis in the 30^thcentury exacerbated the ideological confusion and led to formation of a screwy mentality.The debate raised a great influence on the ideological field and brought general attention in many scholars.They started intense discussions about the comparison of Chinese and western cultures, the concept of the Chinese-centered culture,wholesale westernization and the way of the Chinese culture and so on.Researching this debate by putting it in the century evolution of culture,we can see some former theories and views were given further explanation by compared another debate in 1919,and this debate offered a wider base for the subsequent culture debate.But this debate had a lot of deficiencies.The concept of the Chinese-center culture was very unclear and these scholars unable to master the connotation,so it impacted on the implementation of some idiographic measures in the China-centered cultural movement.On the whole,these views were too empty,lacked the specific details and maneuverability.Different from other debates,this debate had a delicate relation to politics. The content of the China-centered culture had some same points to the Kuomintang's mainstream ideology.Wang xinming and Huang wenshan,who issued the declaration,also served as the position of backup director in the Chinese Cultural Association,which was the external organization of CC.The Chinese Cultural Association and people who committed to the Kuomintang were active in the cultural debate,so some scholars were doubtful of the purpose of the cultural debate.These papers conduct a comprehensive analysis of the background from the academic environment and political views.And we analysis the content of the debate from two aspects:the comparison of cultures and Cultural development models,and compare with the 1980s cultural debate to clarity the trend of the Chinese cultural construction.
