Tianshui embraced the place of Long from the east, closed with Tian Door in the west, controlled Ba Shu towards the south and pointed to the Jin Cheng towards the north. Because of the special strategic position, Tianshui became a place that past military strategists had to contest. Feizi who is the ancestor of Chin people fed horses for Zhou household here and contributed for it, so he was called royal Fuyong and founded Chin Kingdom. For that reason, Chin People completed Chin Kingdom's rise in Tianshui. Along with Chin people's rise and establishment of nation in Tianshui, Chin culture has also produced and developed. During Han Dynasty period, Qiang people acted frequently in Tianshui. And their large-scale uprisings broke out. Emperor Guang Wu in Han Dynasty sent forces to suppress Kui Xiao, and then gained the place of Long so as to look over the place of Shu. Owing to frequent wars during this period, Tianshui peoplp formed customs that bows and horses were fashionable and spirits that people were righteous and stress integrity. Therefore, Tianshui regional culture not only had distinctive style, but also showed a trend of rise. During three Kingdoms period, Zhuge Liang crusaded against Wei Kingdom, so left Qi Mountain five times. Jiang Wei crusaded against Wei Kingdom nine times and left many ancient battlefield sites, as well as many folk legends. Furthermore, many literati pondered monuments, leaving behind lots of famous works. Therefore, three Kingdoms culture of Tianshui came into being.
