Peaceful Rise And Chinese Traditional Culture

Firstly, this thesis points out that it is a hot topic to talk about the peaceful rise of China, then indicates China has unique view of value, tradition ,culture and national ideal. With the unalterable geographical strategic environment, consistency of national will and the successive and gradual evolving strategic culture as the ideal foundation, China keeps the strategic thoughts of unity, peace and defense. The theory of peaceful rise derives from the traditional Chinese culture. This text expounds the thought of advocating morality but not violence, considering that the theory of peaceful rise has contained this thought. Advocation of morality is a kind of spiritual accomplishment and national character which will think about whether it conform with the morality and justice, trying to restrain one's presumptuous desires while facing every issue. It is a kind of strategic culture that will respect the other side in the contacts with outside world, considering the common interests of the overall situation. Not advocating the violence is that not to worship violence blindly, not to call for military, that is ,not to be belligerent, holding that convincing people by reasoning.Strategic culture refers to the tradition, value, attitude, behavior manner, habit, signifying and the special way to adapt to the changes of the circumstances and to solve the crisis or use the violence. The Chinese strategic culture is built on the basic traditional concepts of "benevolence", "courtesy", "virtue", "peace", etc. Since the Third Plenary Session of the 11th party Central Committee, Deng Xiaoping has changed the outdate strategic judgement resolutely, liberating the strategic thinking of China from the frames of war and revolution, bringing it into the new tracks of peace and development. The possibility of avoiding wars, the possibility of cooperating with the opposing side and the reducing of violence's utility are all the important representations of the changes of the Chinese strategic culture with the issuing of new security view as the main sign.
