Oral History(China also called word-of-mouth History) is different from oral tradition, It was born in the 1930s in the United States. In several decades of constant development, Oral History not only has become a modern and unique collection methods with historical significance, but also has gradually developed into a branch of history with its own relatively complete theoretical system, Oral History. In the 1980s, with the door open, along with a large number of modern Western thinking, the theory and methods of modern Oral History started into the domestic and gradually aroused the interest and Discussion of domestic scholars . Over the past several decades, both in theoretical research, and in the practice of exploration, domestic Oral History have achieved a certain degree of development. From simple translation and introduction as a new historical methods and ideas to the independent study of its deep-seated problems and the development of independent practice, and then to more and more people attach their importance and concern, which proposed the establishment the oral history with Chinese characteristics and style , we can see the development of the Chinese Oral History trajectory. In this paper, the writer comprehensively reviewed the development process of domestic Oral History; made the development status of international Oral History as a reference, systematically summed up the results of theory and practice, and pointed out its shortcomings and inadequacies, displaying the development of the domestic picture of Oral History, trying to sort out the future development of its context, lay the foundation for future development. Finally, in summing up the status quo on the basis of its interpretation of the feasibility of developing and prospects of its future development prospects. The research of domestic oral history is helpful to the build the coexistence of colorful, multi-disciplinary history.
