The Status And Role Of "Generalized Form" In The History Of Chinese Grammar

Fang Guangtao's "Generalized form" is the important theory of Chinese Grammar history. Throughout the history of linguistics, the theory has important significance and role in many ways.In this paper, first of all, we introduced the theory "Generalized form" and the hidden stage. Secondly, studying the role and significance of"Generalized form" theory from the division of words, exploration of the grammar Features and the establishment of grammar concept. Then, I introduce the previous evaluation and my views. Finally, it's my conclusions.The conclusions of this paper: "Generalized form" is the theory of linguistics with Chinese characteristics. At present, people only fully affirmed the positive roles of the division. But, the significance in exploration of the grammar Features and the establishment of grammar concept is not enough. In fact, in the development of Chinese Grammar, it had confusion, twists and turns. In this process, Fang Guangtao's "Generalized form" played the important role. It has a far-reaching, huge impact.
