It is still common to follow German Musician Daniel Schubart's pattern—using the general acount of music instead of music aesthetic study among the prevailing arguments about the discipline and the way to construct the systematic structure of music aesthetics in China. The study on the aesthetic of music is else lack or simple in the textbooks of music aesthetics at art colleges. Such state has been the obstacle in the further development of Music Aesthetics.By way of description, interpretation and comparison, this thesis aims at sorting out the different musical aesthetic ideas and attempting to supply a theoretical start point for the study of Music Aesthetics which is practically valuable.The thesis is made up of seven parts, including Introduction, Conclusion and five chapters of detailed analysis on music aesthetic ideas.By reviewing the study fields in the history of Music Aesthetics, Introduction analyses the discipline of Music Aesthetics and clarifies that Music Aesthetics is a cross discipline related to Musicology and Aesthetics.Chapter 1 explores the research object, and research method of Music Aesthetics. Based on the observation and analysis, this thesis assumes that the research object consists in aesthetic in the art of music and the research method is the study on the aesthetic which exists in the study of Music Aesthetics.Chapter 2 is the literature review of the formation and development of Music Aesthetics which covers the following aspects: the emergence of the consciousness of music aesthetic; the boom of music aesthetic ideas and the origin of "Music Aesthetics" as an independent discipline.Mainly according to Gats' idea about the division of schools of Music Aesthetics, Chapter 3 illustrates the division of schools of Music Aesthetics which also combines Liszt and Eduard Hanslick's music aesthetic ideas.Chapter 4 focuses on the analysis of the concrete existence shape of music aesthetics on the basis of the self-existence shape of music art and the existence form of musical works.Chapter 5 analyses the different categories in aesthetic activity of music which is based on aesthetic categories formed in the study of aesthetics in China and Western countries.The conclusion part summarizes the academic discipline and theoretical system of "Music Aesthetics".
