Shi Tiesheng is a very special writer in moderen liteary history,whose works is enlightening as well as recondite and difficult to gain a correct understanding.This thesis focuses on how his disability affected him and sent him on his writing career and how he expressed the sufferings and delimma in life and how to get redeemed.This thesis is composed of three parts: introduction,body and conclusion.Ths Introduction makes a brief introduction of the existing literature on the study of His works and my new findings.The body consists of three sections.Section one presents the fact that disability made Shi Tiesheng underwent unendurable sufferings. And from the perspective of a disabled man,it analyses the themes of illness,death,and destiny in Shi's worksSection two analyses the source of Shi Tiesheng's writing motivation and studies how Shi Tiesheng's"Process Phylosophy"support him spiritually through reading his books. It is found out after studying the religious belief in Shi Tiesheng's works that"illness"and"love"are what life really is and the former exposes us to tremendous sufferings while the latter serves as solution to the problem.The third section studies his unique writing technique and innovation after careful comparing his works with other tradional realistic writers and discusses the unavoidable disadvantag as a physicall disabled writer and its causes.The last part makes a conclusion of the whole thesis and reiterate the main points of view.
