Study On Design Information's Order

Order is an abstract concept for its objective existence and essence to be the law and nature for materials. As a concept applied in design area, it would be an effective way and an innovation to research design information, by means of using concept"order"to understand the nature and to analyze the sequence features of design information.This paper exposits design information's ordering features in two ways called spatial and time attributes, that means the ordering structure and the transmitting and receiving process of design information respectively. The ordering structure research includes the research on organizing structure, ordering features and conflict of orders, while another one refers to information's dissipative structures, relationship between information entropy and information system's order, and some measures proposed to ensure the transmitting effectiveness.Design information is classified for three types, that is called fixed-organizing structure, upward-organizing structure and downward-organizing structure. It would be downward-organizing structure if semantic information becomes dominant, the same as upward-organizing structure with dominant aesthetic product information.Meanwhile, this paper has also analyzed dissipative phenomenon with information theory in the process of design information's transmitting. It is an unbalanced and circular open system with typical characters of dissipative structure. The dissipation of information consequently results in the loss of information or incomplete semantics. In the transmitting process, entropy is a measure of activity and instability, also a decisive factor brings information esthetigue, as well as a critical element which is affected with the order of the whole information system. The lowest entropy doesn't mean an ordered information system existed. Information entropy determines the activity of information system, increases aesthetic information values to bring more happiness and achievement for product users. Under the premise of meeting core function of industrial products, it is valuable to enhance the information's activity to increase entropy on the basis of orders in nature. It is essential to control the inscapes and their similar distinctivity and distinctive similarity. Materials in information system present identical natures has been the basis in design information's transmitting process, including whether designers and target-users may have identical cognition to design products, as well as whether in emotion or knowledge identity. After researching how to communicate and accept design information effectively, it has concluded some related measures to increase the affectivity. Besides, the inter-subjectivity gap between information encoders and receivers would be narrowed, on the condition of fully utilizing designing context.
