Under the reckless expanding of modern industrial civilization, the ecosystem restoration capacity is in jeopardy. Seriously damaged to the environment in the real world is reflected in the film, which makes disasters films popular among the audiences. The profound environmental awareness in twenty-first century disaster films exerts a far-reaching impact on audiences.Disaster films deliberately use some skills to express a critical thinking of ecology, which illustrates positive factors in the communication and persuasion theory, to change the stance of audiences in a positive direction. This paper analyzed the contents and the persuasive skills of "King Kong" and "the day after tomorrow", two popular disaster movies, and tries to summarize useful experience. By comparing Super Typhoon and its more popular counterparts, the author tries to find the space to improve.Despite the fact that disaster films are categorized as commercial films, they have significant social effect, because their environmental concerns provide effective warning sign to the audiences.The environmental concerns carried by the disaster films arises a wide spreading discussion among the audiences in China, which is believed to improve the understanding level of common Chinese people on environmental issues. However, this movie fails to gain the acknowledgement from public. Chinese disaster movies are important factor to spread concerns of environment, and educate common audiences to care about the environmental issues. To develop Chinese disaster film, the artists need to take the successful movies as references, and improve the skill of persuading.
