When the concept of "Ba-Shu Culture" has been put forward since the early 40's in the 20th century, along with the full implementation of archaeological work, as well as a large number of the continuous advent of new materials, academic understanding of the cultural connotations of Bashu has been also developed. Bashu Culture studies have made important progress in a number of areas. Judging from the archaeological materials, late Bashu Culture is known mainly from graves, and Bashu graves from the Warring States period to the Early Western Han Dynasty often buried bronze weapons with a typical identity. It can be said that the weapons are an important component of Bashu burial artifacts. There are quite a lot of research made by predecessors for the weapons. But generally speaking, most of the studies were separated the weapons from their excavated units, only research about the weapon itself, such as the shape, origins and ornamentation, etc., but rarely discuss the role of weapons in Bashu burial. Recently, a large number of archaeological materials has provide a new opportunity for research about the Ba-Shu culture buried weapons. Therefore, this paper is attempting focused on the relationship between the weapons buried of late Bashu tombs with the burial of grades, on the basis of previous studies ,with a view to explore the buried weapons system of late Bashu culture which distinct from the Central Plains culture. The article is divided into seven parts:Part One: Preface.First is the explaining of the title, confirm the objects and the space time area to be study in this thesis. The late Bashu culture In this paper, has been followed by the outcome of the academia, means the remains and artifacts with typical characteristics which made by Ba and Shu clans from the Early Warring States period to the Early Western Han Dynasty.Second is the summary of the history and the status about this thesis , in order to clear the research purpose of this article.Part Two: Overview of Late Bashu Burial.Making a brief introduction of the burial materials collected in this paper, outlines the distribution of late Bashu burial. The author makes the periodization of graves based on Li DongNan's previous thesis, reference to part of previous research, combined with the author's analysis of the new materials, divided the 347graves of Bashu burial which in a better preservation into four periods. Namely: the early Warring States period, the mid-Warring States period, the early part of the late Warring States Period, the late part of the late Warring States Period to the early Western Han Dynasty.Part Three: The Classification of the Late Bashu Burial.According to the differences in the presence-absence of tomb furniture, the late Bashu burial shows diversified in shape on the situation, taking into account parts of burial with different tomb furniture have the similarity burial customs, this article is intended to divide the Bashu burial into rectangular tomb and strip-shaped tomb by grave's different shapes. In accordance with the factors such as burial shape, size and type of funerary objects, made a classification to them respectively. According to grade level, divided the two types of burial into three categories.Part Four: The Classification of Buried Weapon CombinationsFirst, describes in detail the type and combination of weapons which excavated in late Bashu Burial. That discusses mainly are the different combinations of four kinds of weapons which were spears, daggers, dagger-axes and broadaxes, as well as the excavated situation about those various combinations.Secondly, according to the artifacts buried with weapons (mainly bronze), make classification respectively to the combinations of weapons unearthed from the rectangular tomb and strip-shaped tomb. Each of them could be divided three categories.Part Five: The Research of Buried Weapons System.Discussing in detail the relationship between the classification of weapons combination and the graves, on the base of the phases results which made in the previous text. Then research the relationship between the grades of burial and the buried weapons, and the system of weapons buried with a in-depth research.First, the author associates the classification of weapons combinations with the burial. The study found that the late Ba Shu burial is different from the Central Plains culture which use the number of bronze tripod to reflect high and low grades, but to reflect it with weapons. Weapons buried at the rectangular tomb and strip-shaped tomb has a little differences in detail, but the general trend is consistent. In particular, high-grade burial buried with three or four kinds of weapons or a combination contain of dagger-axes, while the number of low-grade burial is not buried weapons or buried only one or two weapons. In addition, the archaeological phenomenon that Bashu burial using weapons to reflect the level is gradually disappearing after Qin Dynasty.Second is a thought on the system of buried weapons. Given the every level of Bashu burial buried weapons do not regulate the situation, and comparison the tripod system in Central Plains culture with the consideration of the formation of the reasons. For that though Bashu burial using its weapons reflected grade, but the crown hold by ruling class was not strong enough, and weapons buried have not been form a strict system of norms from top to bottom. With the merger of Ba shu which made by Qin and the culture shock followed, that the unique of buried weapons system in Bashu culture, disappeared hastily when it hasn't completely forming the spot, thus submerged in the long river of history.Part Six: Discussion of correlative problems.Focused on three questions. First, there is the analysis about the sarcophagus burial nation's remains, namely the Han Tashan cemetery from which have unearthed Bashu weapons. That the weapons buried in this cemetery is likely to be a simply funerary objects or as a symbol of wealth, and was not related with the buried weapons systems in Bashu burial.Second are some thoughts on the clans about rectangular and strip-shaped tomb. According to the distribution of the two types of graves, as well as the development of context, that the rectangular tomb does main belongs to the Ba clan , and the strip-shaped tomb belongs to the Shu clan.Third is the interpretation of this archaeological phenomenon to combine with literature, that why does Bashu burial reflects the level by weapons. The writer suggest that the spirit tradition of the army and uninterrupted war should be the main reason that lead to Bashu burial reflects the level by weapons.Part Seven: Conclusion. The summarize of discussion at the former text and the point of view in this thesis.
