With China's opening to the world outside and its fast economic growth, English has successfully attracted more attention all over the country. Great emphasis has been given to vocational education in China, which aims to provide students with certain English skills for the development of schools and future career. Affective factors play a significant role in language teaching and learning in vocational schools.This paper explores the relationship between affective strategies and oral English ability with the display of the function of affective factors in teaching. The definitions of affective teaching, affective strategies and affective factors are explained together with some former studies. Some relevant problems are exposed in oral English teaching in vocational school with two questionnaires, and oral English tests are conducted to testify the relationship of affective strategies and oral English teaching. A detailed analysis by Microsoft Excel and SPSS about the result of questionnaire and oral tests is given in this paper about the functions of affective strategy on oral language teaching and learning. Some suggestions and possible further study are put forward on this basis.
