Lectures On History Figures Of Du Fu's Poetry

Du Fu is one of the greatest poems in the history of Chinese poetry. His poets which inherited Chinese traditional poets Airs of State and Lisao eptitomized Chinese poets. His poets carried forward to a new form. Not an outstanding poem wasn't influenced by him in the following history of Chinese poetry. Du Fu is not only a poem, but also a model in Chinese thinking history and cultural history. He concerned about his country and people and cared for the fate of the nation in his whole life. He loved the people and every living creature. His thought and moral character has been the model to the later.The studies on Du Fu and Du Fu's poets were attached most importance by all previous dynasties scholars. In our times, research findings are abundant and fruitful in the background of academic prosperity. Du poetics has bloomed to one of three specialized studies, with Redology and Collectanea. There is almost no blank on the studies of Du Fu and Du Fu's poetry according to the current research status.However, historical figures in Du Fu's poets still haven't been special mentioned by academic monographs. Especially, there is no systematic summary and induction on the history figures at all.The thesis focus on the history figures in Du Fu's poets. By introducing the history figures in Du Fu's poets, the diploma paper analyzes the art of Du Fu's poetry, Du Fu's ambitions, Du Fu's thoughts and his noble character. It is a key part to sort out the history figures and carry on quantitative analysis.On the basis of the analysis ,the most history character in Du Fu's poems, in the order, is litterateurs and scholars(44.13 percent), wise ministers and good generals(30.87percent), sage kings(8.52percent), hermits(7.77percent).And also, Tao Yuanming, Zhu Geliang are the two most history characters in Du Fu's pomes. Through them, we can know more about Du Fu's wisdom and ambision.Chapter one is to present the history figuers in Du Fu's poems. There is a systematic summary and induction on the history figures that were mentioned in Du Fu's poems.Chapter two has eyes on analyzing the most history figuers that is litterateurs and scholars. Du Fu is a splendid comprehensive expression of poetry. His poem remixed the ancestors'collective experiences, not only the object representation and the creation method , but also the poetic form and artistic style. His poems originated diversiform style, syntactic, and composition. All was the result of Du Fu's learning from different masters. Each litterateur and scholar in the history was Du Fu's teacher. Learning widely from others'strong points inspired Du Fu's accomplishment.It is unchangeable feeling of Chinese litterateurs to care for the country and the people. Du Fu carried on and developed Chinese traditional spirit. He concerned the fate of the nation and the people in his whole life.Chapter three analyzes the second most history characters that are wise ministers and good generals. Becoming a wise chancellor who could accomplish some great deeds was Du Fu's utmost ambition. Du Fu had no chance to complete it ,so he gave his admire and respect to the wise ministers and good generals in the history. On the figures, Du Fu expressed his ambition that was he was eager to be a wise minister, and both strengthened the nation and ensured a better life for all people of Tang Dynasty.Chapter four focuses on the third most history figuers that is sage kings."Never forget the kings", it is the evaluation that is given for Du Fu in Chinese literature history. There are a lot of sage kings in Du's poems. It is true that Du Fu was an example who was loyal to the kings. However, that was not pedantic ,or without principles. Du Fu was only faithful to the sage kings, just like emperor Yao and Shun. What Du Fu would like to do was to give dehortatioms to the king and assisted the emperor to be the sage king. Emperors Yao, Shun, Yu, and other wise kings in the history were the model of Tang Dynasty. Du Fu praised the sage kings and criticized the emperors who were contrary to the rules as a wise king. That should be Du Fu who never forgot to advise and suggest.Chapter five is the view of the hermits. Du Fu is a person who has good qualities. Behind Du Fu's enthusiasm about pursuing immortality and dwelling in his native place in seclusion lay his advocation of those hermits who undervalued the official rank and wealth, but thought a lot of personality and integrity. Du Fu expressed his attitude to his life, and also what he had lived for.Chapter six studies the relations between Du Fu and Tao Yuanming. Tao Yuanming was chanted most in Du Fu's poems. It is true that there are great differences between Tao's poetry and Du's poetry .Almost in each sentece, Du Fu talked about the country, just the opposite, Tao cared more about cloistered life. Instead, Tao Yuanming was regarded the bosom friend by Du Fu,although they were in the different dynasty. Du Fu and Tao Yuanming had not only the similar background on family and life experiences, but also personality and spirit. Du Fu believed that Tao could know his thought ,however, it was Du's pity that they were in the different time. Du used a best way to communicate with his real friend , which was to inherit Tao's poem art and spirit by his own way.Chapter seven researches Du Fu and Zhu Geliang. We can't find the others any more who admired Zhu Geliang like Du Fu in Tang Dynasty. What's the reason that Du Fu had a passion for Zhu Geliang. Transparency these Du Fu's poems on Zhu Geliang, we can feel Du Fu's feeling and ambition. Du Fu was chasing to be a wise minister who was like Zhu Geliang in all his life. Yet, it finally was Du Fu's dream and anguish. So Du Fu could realize Zhu's tragedy which he couldn't complete his ideal .In brief, the key point of the thesis is to grasp the thought, ideal, pesonality of Du Fu further, by carding the history figuers in Du Fu's poems. Through these characters who behaved in Du Fu's heart, it seems that Du Fu is alive. We see a real noble Du Fu who cares for the fate of the nation and the people ,who is keen on winning his spurs, who is faithful to admonish the king to be a sage emperor, who is pursuing wisdom and personal integrity .A persistent, honored, sensate Du Fu.
