Although people of virtue of the older generations and recent times discuss History of Eastern Han: Biographies of Litterateurs from time to time, but the article that discuss how it was brought about has not been seen, neither the article about the author and production the independent category Biographies of Litterateurs included.The second chapter explores the formation of Biographies of Litterateurs from the view of historiography. In Chinese historiography, the style of Book History of literary world is benefit from the biographical history books such as Historical Records, Book of Han and History of three kingdoms. The co-biography, sym-biography and add-biography about litterateurs in the biographical history books provide mature and model style to the compiling of History of Eastern Han:Biographies of Litterateurs. From the resources of the history materials, History of Eastern Han:Biographies of Litterateurs learns widely from other Eastern Han history books, and decorated what it had absorbed.Chapter three discusses how the concept of litterateurs emerges and the relation of the development of literature idea and the formation of Biographies of Litterateurs. After the Eastern Han Dynasty, litterateurs became specialized and classified, and people were getting perspicacious about the concept of litterateurs. Between the end of Jin Dynasty and the early years of Liu Song Dynasty, it was popular to comment on the personages classifiable, the group of litterateurs came into the critics’sight. At the same time, people get some progress in the cognizance of Article and Literature, writing became popular, and compiling books became scenery in literary world. Fan ye wrote the Eastern Han litterateurs because of the reason above, that was the style of Biographies of Litterateurs.The chapter four inspects how Fan Ye accepted or rejected the litterateurs and their writings. Fan ye putting the different litterateurs in his book was not because of their status but their articles’ popularity.
