Dak-Ming is an electronic band in Hong Kong existed from 1985 to 1991. This paper aims to discuss the culture and spirit of Hong Kong by the analysis on the lyrics of Dak-Ming' songs in the background of society and history of 1980s. And the paper also lays emphasis on people' livelihood, social psychology and situation not involved in main ideology and Hong Kong's pop songs from 1980s to 1990s in order to show the character and style of the lyrics of Dak-Ming's songs in social records and consideration for reality as well as the independent music spirit. In addition, conspicuous differences between Dak-Ming and other bands in the same era are concluded by the comparisons between them in terms of social records, the exposition of Hong Kong and the matters about taboo subjects. What's more, this paper attempts to give the distinguish features in literature adaptation of Dak-Ming through the entire analysis, and to discuss the character in art and the consequence of the lyrics of Dak-Ming's songs as well.
