Growing number of impoverished college students in China's colleges and universities highlighted the issue as a matter of concern of social problems, at the same time a large number of literatures about it is appeared in China's academic community, these documents reveal that the reason of economic poverty makes some students had a "psychological poverty" or "the spirit of poverty", to compared with the impoverished college students and other student, there is a more serious psychological problems. This paper attempts to investigate the two paths relationship of attribution characteristics and social support between impoverished college students .Hope that this study can help to provide a theoretical basis and practical reference for educational in social support of impoverished college students.This study is divided into three parts: the first part is literature studies, it proposed the purpose of the study and theoretical and practical significance, then make a Specific study for definitions and theories in attribution characteristics, social support and impoverished college students; second part is empirical research, the using of "ASQ" and "social support scale" of the impoverished college students and other students in a comprehensive university to analysis their attribution characteristics ,social support factors and the impact of the mechanism .In third part, the paper provide better support and protection for the impoverished college students community to support the ideas of education, and guidance to help them to avoid bias, which is based on attribution characteristics of them.The results of this study show that: the current in-school impoverished college students is more scientific and rational on the whole, but small number of attribution bias is appeared on a certain deviation, due to external, local and non-controllable attribution in negative events. The paper provides some certain deviation attributional mentoring programmes to help them correct their attribution bias and establishes the correct attribution characteristics, builds their own social support network.
