A Study On Teaching Of Communicative Strategies And Communicative Competence In ESL Classroom Of Secondary Vocational School

Communicative strategy is a skill and methodology used under a certain second language situation in which the speakers haven't grasp the language well enough and are intended to achieve a specific aim. This thesis is designed to do some explorative study on how to improve the students'ability in the Secondary Vocational School to apply communicative strategies in communication, through the classroom teaching. It is an experiment on the communicative strategy teaching of oral English in Secondary Vocational School.Firstly, this thesis makes a review on the history, definitions and classifications of communicative strategy. And then points out the students'ability necessity to study on classroom communicative strategy teaching.It can be concluded through our study that communicative strategy teaching can help students with their oral English improvement and strengthen their ability of communication. It is worth noticing that, although strategy training can motivate students'awareness of using strategies, the motivation itself can not improve students'communicating ability. It is hopeful that this study will make some progress in English teaching of Secondary Vocational Schools.
