With the deepening of economic globalization, the demand for cross-cultural talents has increased greatly. This paper presents the research goal of cultivating the intercultural communicative competence of the secondary vocational business English students, and combines the situational teaching method with the intercultural communication teaching, attempting to explore a certain situational teaching mode to develop the students’ intercultural communicative competence.This study includes four stages: the preparation stage, the theoretical research stage, the teaching experimental stage, the evaluation and reflection stage. In the preparation stage, the author used literature research method and content analysis method to analyze the current situation of cross culture teaching in China, the existing problems and the current situation of the application of situational teaching method in China. In the stage of theoretical research, the author discussed the theoretical basis of this study, including constructivism learning theory, the theory of intercultural communication as well as the situational teaching theory, and analyzed the situational teaching mode elements and structure of the system, preliminary constructed a situational teaching mode in cultivating the intercultural communicative competence of the secondary vocational business English students. In experiment stage, the author applied the former construction of the situational teaching mode to teaching practice,which includes three rounds of experimental teaching in the experimental class by using the action research method. Through constant reflection and adjustment, the author summarized the set of situational teaching mode in cultivating the intercultural communicative competence of the secondary vocational business English students.Finally in the evaluation and reflective phase, the author sorts and analyzes the data collected during the experiment, the result of which verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the situational teaching mode in Cultivating the students’ intercultural communicative competence.In conclusion, the innovative situational teaching method in the cultivation of intercultural communication competence constructed by the organic combination of the two factors enriches the content of English teaching and research, and plays areference role to the reform of English teaching.
