The trend of electronic-society is at the process of non-stop advance, which also affects the development and improvement of many musical instruments. The Electone, originated from organ, was invented under this social circumstance. The Electone has extremely wide musical space for expression, because it is equipped with two sets of upper keyboard, a set of foot keyboard and over 300 different tone colors. Its varied tone color, extended gamut and grand sound help the musician explore a new field in musical performance and creation. The musical instruments such as piano and violin are still under continuous research, development and improvement. It is the same with the Electone in order to reflect the musical characteristic of works in a better way. One important characteristic of the Electone is to imitate various sounds vividly, no matter whether is classical or popular, human voice or percussion. If the technical advance of the Electone can be compared to "hardware update" of music, the musical performance which goes with musical instrument can be called the musical "software". These two factors are both dispensable to complete one musical work of the Electone. The only criterion to measure the level of executant is how he or she combines "hardware" and "software" based on types of music. As for the "hardware", the executant can refer to the instruction, while for "software" his or her way to perform varies depending on his or her understanding of himself or herself, music, musical instrument as well as sound condition of different instruments. As a result, the theory of touching technique and performance method comes into being.Through illustration and examples of some musical composition, Chapter One analyses different effects of the Electone under several touching technique and the principle, technical key points and the points for attention of touching technique. Chapter Two analyses the different Playing Skills used in the Electone; it also explains by example that how the performance method is combined with touching technique to obtain genuine sound effects.
