The Study On Zushigong Belief Between Fujian And Taiwan

On Zhangzhou Sanping Zushi and Quanzhou Qingshui Zushi,popularly called "Zushigong",who has profound influence in Fujian and Taiwan,this thesis investigates the origin and development,belief particularity,religion attribute,educational function,cultural exchange and tourism development of Zushigong belief in Fujian and Taiwan with literature, historical materials,epigraph,folklore and online information by the comprehensive comparison method of history and anthropology.We believe that Zushigong belief experiences the course of a dignitary on era evolving into a mundane numen,which, belonging to the Buddhist monk worship of folk belief,is the product of fusion between Buddhism of Central Plains and the folk belief of southern Fujian.By analysis on the social function and effect of Zushigong belief,we believe that though Zushigong belief,same as the other folk belief,has dual nature,we should focus on the Chinese traditional ethics included in it and the active effect in inheriting culture tradition,promoting regional economy and advancing regional identity and social integration.With the development of the construction of the Economic Zone on the West Coast of the Strait and the enhancement of the interaction between Fujian and Taiwan,it is certain of practical significance to promote the culture exchange and tourism development on Zushigong belief ofFujian and Taiwan.
