A Lesson From The Ancient--The Modern Analysis On The Modeling And Emblazonry Of Mirror

In the past five thousand years of the process of civilization, our hard-working and wise ancestors used their hands to create the excellent traditional culture and arts. The brilliant achievements in ancient design are the important parts of our country's excellent traditional culture and arts.There are many immortal works in ancient painted pottery, bronze ware,china, gold and silver ware, lacquerware, silk clothing, paper-cut, sculpture and other works of art in design.As one of them,the ancient mirror is not only an utility, but also an unique, absolutely exquisite handicraft.The idea of ancient art and design which is infiltrated by the ancient mirror sparkles with effulgence of the ancient traditional culture and arts of China.In today with rapid economic development,the world becomes smaller and smaller beacause of the information. Products become more and more similar, How to make some products stand out in the similar merchandise? This is the problem that the designers need to face and in-depth study.There are different traditional culture and arts in different countries, nationalities and regions.The different traditional culture and arts explain the meaning of national spirit by different forms.Only rooted in Chinese traditional culture and the arts,the modern design can create the products with national cultural characteristics and modern-style.Chinese people's unique view of nature and creature which are reflected by ancient mirror will not be lost forever.The thought,such as"harmony between the heaven and human","practicality foremost","delicious food is not better than beautiful object", is still a thoroughly important reference to desigeners today.Based on this,this paper will study the design of China's ancient mirror,and analyse the ancient mirror's physical characteristics, artistic characteristics, social functions and the long process it has gone through.And then,this article focuses on the modeling and emblazonry,so as to find some applied methods that can be used in modern design.The Paper is divided into five chapters as follows: Chapter one is introduction.First,the background and significance of this topic are analysed.Second,the status quo of the domestic and foreign research about ancient mirror are summarized. Finally, the main contents of this paper are Established.Chapter two is ancient mirror. This chapter studies the origin of ancient mirror in my country.Accordingly,it is come to the conclusion that the development of mirror is adapt to the progress of social means of production.And then,the chapter makes a brief introduction about bronze mirror,iron mirror and early glass mirror.Chapter three is the modern analysis on the modeling and emblazonry of bronze mirror.First, the structure of bronze mirrors is analyzed,then this chapter carries out more deeply analysis to the modeling and emblazonry of ancient bronze mirror of China.The chapter will be focused on analysing the mirror shape and mirror button from the design point of view,and studying the design meanings of emblazonries which are Sun light patterns,geometric patterns, physical patterns.Finally,analyse the structure and layout design of the emblazonry.Chapter four is the bronze mirror and modern design.This chapter studies the applied methods on the modeling and emblazonry of bronze mirror to modern design.And give some examples for the application.Finally, draws the main creating points of the paper and presents the main direction and the field which should be studied in the future.
