The Tradition Of Chinese Classical Poetry And The Exploration Of Poetic Art Of TuAn

Mr.TuAn,a versatile person,is well-known for being a poetry translator,a dramatic critic,an editor and a poet who sincerely embraces the soul of beauties in poems through his life.As a poet who is greatly influenced by classical culture and British-American culture,he translates British-American poetry,and makes great achievement.The contact with American and British culture,especially with the poem translation of the two countries,has greatly influenced his poem creation.Although he borrows and learns western ways of poem skills,his basic viewpoint is the unique Chinese poetry tradition.He seeks for the link between China and the West culture,and "transplants" it to the soil where this culture may grow,so as to achieve his explorationin of poetic art.The tradition of classical poetry constitutes the core of TuAn's cultural and mental structure, which shows the unique artistic charm of classic poetry tradition.This paper is mainly based on the majority of poems created by TuAn(primarily his free verse written in the vernacular).Through systematic analysis and a whole look of the artistic form,the thought and emotion connotation in his poems,the writer attempts to promulgate the close relationship between TuAn's poetry creation and the tradition of Chinese classical poetry.This paper consists of four parts.The introduction,as the original basic point of this paper,is the summary of present situation of TuAn's poetry research.The first part,through reviewing the predecessor's views of "the tradition of classical poetry",attempts to summarize and explain the core connotation of "the tradition of classical poetry".The second part analyzes the musical characteristics through two aspects,namely the harmonious and smooth rhythm,and the persuasive rhythm.The third part,analyzes the objective description characteristics.At early times,he absorbs the outline drawing technique in our country's ancient poetry to build fitting-together atmosphere.Later,he borrows the poetic dramatizing technique.Both agree with the esthetic pursue for objective description in the classical poetry tradition.The fourth part, analyzes that Tu'an's poetry inherits the practical view in traditional literary arts—"articles embody doctrines".This manifests humanity concerning countries and social groups,concern for the destiny of a country and a nation,the spirit of keeping up with the times,a strong sense of commission and social responsibilities.This humane spirit is reflected by different ways,either hidden or obviously in different times,respectively,the sad reflection in early poetry,the eulogy of poetry at Middle Times,rational critic of later period poetry.The conclusion part,through the analysis of the whole passage about TuAn's poetry which shows the unique artistic charm of classical poetry tradition gains some poetics enlightenment.
