A Contrastive Study Of Stylistic Words In Poesy Of Year 1917-1927 And Year 1997-2007

Stylistic words in poesy,classified by Chinese lexical function,are a dynamic system itself. In this research words in poems of 1917-1927 and 1997-2007 were selected and compared from aspects of lexical co-occurrence rates,linguistic attributes and aesthetic attributes to study the evolution of stylistic words in poesy.Based on the theories of lexicology and stylistics,some conclusions were made:1.The co-occurrence rate of stylistic words in poesy is not very high,and that of word-formation morphemes is higher.2.Synchronically,stylistic words in poesy represent a polysyllabic-oriented trend,with the ratio of Nouns reducing,and that of Verbs and Adjectives increasing.As to word-building, attributive structure and coordinate structure are given priority,while overlap,onomatopoeia, binding,Phonetic-Semantic combination and additional structures are getting weakened.3.Diachronically,the aesthetic attributes of contemporary stylistic words in poesy decreased appreciably.4.The evolution of stylistic words in poesy is an integration of novelty and fogyism, simplicity and elegance,stability inside and instability outside.5.The evolution of sylistic words in poesy is affected by complicated factors,such as the transition of social material and cultural life,linguistic cognitive psychology,literary creation ideas,literature thoughts and lexical system.
